Telephones Online has been trading online since 1998; since then the internet has rapidly changed into the beast it is today. Tam and Mike, the owners, have always kept up with the latest trends and have adapted their web strategies to suit the current market.

They were our very first clients too.

Client's brief

Tam and Mike wanted to give their website a facelift (we first designed their site in 2001). They were very happy with the site structure, content and back office ecommerce management system but wanted to refresh the design to take advantage of the latest technologies, adding new functionality and features to the site.

Here's what we did

Telephones Online is an extremely well established website, it was important that the new website design had a positive impact on sales. Through our search engine optimisation service and internet marketing strategy the website ranks extremely well in the search engines and is number 1 in Google for terms such as 'telephones', 'cordless phones' and 'bt cordless phones'; it was extremely important not to disturb the sites search results and the revenues they generate.

We took the original site and developed a fresh new look and feel. We developed a new product navigation system to take into account of the every expanding and changing product range.

Each time new products and catalogues are added to the site, the system automatically builds search engine optimised pages and links on the site.

We added new features such as product image zooms and a special offers product carousel on the home page to give a little interactively to the site without being too distracting. The carousel can be easily updated via the back office.

We added additional 'call to action' and monetisation to the website including new banners, buttons, point of sales graphics and the automatic display of discounts and saving.

Product pages have been enhanced to show more product information, customer reviews and cross selling features.

The new website was coded with the the latest coding techniques to improve its search engine rankings without upsetting the underlining website structure or existing search engine results.

Our results

The new site design has been well received by the client and their customers. Since the launch, a plethora of Telephones Online competitors have taken many of our ideas and concepts and replicated them on their own site. As they say imitation is the highest form of flattery.
